Sir Donald Tsang ate my hamster. But I can't vote him out of office
And who wouldn't feel politically alienated after that?
2005 was the third year of Hong Kongers marching for democracy. These are some of the placards used by demonstrators - who must surely be setting the bar for the world on what assertive-yet-peaceful demonstrating is all about. Around 5% of the half-million who marched in each of 2003 and 2004 attended in 2005. Was this a telltale sign that what people wanted most was the removal of Mr Tung? Or merely that people were adopting a wait-and-see attitude to Sir Donald Tsang's actions to further democracy? |
